Based on the personality and the analytical response of the YIRP study characters, design strategies are to be developed to fullfill the residential demands. Site conditions and nearby neighbourhoods are considered in relatation to designing the new community. 3D site diagram is constructed to better show the relation between site and nerby context.

3D DIAGRAM OF SITE

EXSISTING SITE AND NEIGHBOURHOOD CONTEXT

YIRP ANALYSIS

Analytical diagrams are constructed to represent the residents from different age groups and the type of dwelling demanded. On-site facilities and time of use are recorded to show the habits of the residents.
NEW COMMUNITY DESIGN - LINKED COMMUNITY

NEW SITE PLAN WITH RELATION TO NEIGHBOURING CONTEXT

EXPERIENCE PERSPECTIVE OF THE NEW COMMUNITY DESIGN

REFLECTION
The Link-Community project lead me to realise the importance of not only neighbourhood context but also the necessasity to consider resident needs. The project helped me to develope the design thinking of analysing the urban context which will determine the limits and constrains of the design approach, where as the analysis of the residential group helped me to understand the demand which will reflect on the facilities that is required to be allocated on the project site.
The Link-Community project emphasis on the importance of social interaction, where platforms and bridges are designed to connected residents from different parts of the building togather. I think for the future project to come, the theme of social interaction will also be majorly considered when designing for the community. To improve for the next assignment, i think better regulation of the ground space need to be reconsidered.
